Truckers looking for your last job? Come to B&L

I've been driving over the road since 2002, 16 years next year, 8 of which I have spent right here at B&L. My 1st 8 years were spent hopping around from company to company, always looking for something better, a common practice in the trucking industry. I did the big company thing, Covenant, JB Hunt, Navajo, and a whole assortment of small outfits. Never really finding too much better than the next. As a general rule, most truckers believe that if they've seen one company, they've seen them all...that is until you see B&L! There's a reason why I've been able to stay here for half my career now, because you'll never find another place like it!

When I came to B&L we were a small outfit, with just over 20 trucks, today we have nearly 80 trucks, and still growing! The growth we are experiencing has been tremendous, while many things are ever changing, the down home, small town, family roots of the company never has! This is a company where you will known and treated as a member of the family, not a person in the seat to drive profits.

Jon and Ben truly care about every drivers personal success , from the new hire to the oldest driver they have! The pay and benefits are amazing! I cant go over everything, but you can visit
www.bl-tranpsort.com to learn more, or call Lance in recruiting at 866-848-2888 x316,and they can go over all the details and perks. I can tell you this, all drivers make 45- 50 cpm, depending on the customer, and you'll get all the miles you need, even on ELOGS! Yes even on ELOGS, I havn't slowed down a bit, in fact, I feel like I'm actually getting more, due to the efficiency of logging by the minute as compared to paper logging in 15 minute intervals. So hey what do you got to lose, they'll even pay you $1000 sign on bonus right up front just for coming!

Tell em ol' Rooster sent ya!

One Year in the "LimeTime"

One year ago this week I achieved one of my long time trucking dreams, to drive a bright LIME GREEN truck. Which I affectionately call, the LIMETIME, for obvious reasons. Right away I started customizing the ol girl with green seat covers, green dice, a personalized license plate, and my favorite part, the chrome and lime green vinyl dash!

So here we are one year later, and 170,000 miles down the road. It is quite the powerful beast with its 500HP Volvo D13 motor, and I ride in style with my heated massaging seats and Bluetooth stereo system. I have got many compliments over the last year, from people on the streets walking by, motorists pulling up beside me at a red light, or even customers. People do love the color. My company does now have 3 more lime green Volvos we just got a few weeks ago, but the colors and stripes are a little different, still making mine unique with its blue and silver color scheme, which is totally awesome! It has been a fun year, and I hope to keep trucking in the LimeTime for many more to come!

Yeah it's an automatic and what-not, I do miss jammin them ol' gears and stuff, and I loved my Peterbilt, I had the ol 'Viper' for nearly 4 years, my longest run in any one single truck by far. But she was getting old and just not much space in them, compared to the Volvo. Hear in the back I got my own private work station and table, and refrigerator/freezer, microwave, a bed on top, which I loaded down with soft foam and padded mattress cover recently, very comfy now! It's almost like an efficiency apartment rather than a truck.  The storage space and cabinets is ridiculous. I know in a few years when I bring my wife on  the road full time, they'll still be plenty of room for two people to live nicely. It's just an awesome truck all around, and I'm proud to get to drive it!
